Tradição secular quase extinta no Rio Grande do Norte, a 'pega de bois' é revivida por vaqueiros no Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil, com o objetivo de preservar a cultura dos antigos vaqueiros, que criavam o gado solto na caatinga e tinham que buscar o rebanho em meio à vegetação. A atividade requer do vaqueiro além de coragem, perícia, para se livrar dos galhos pontiagudos e até mesmo dos demais bois que correm mata adentro.

The cowboy activity requires addition of courage, skill, to get rid of sharp branches and even the other oxen which run into the rain forest.
